What
is the Independent Care Group (ICG)?
ICG
is an association that represents independent care providers in York
and North Yorkshire, including care home providers for all client groups,
domicilliary care agencies, supported living and extra care housing
providers, and day care centres in the private and voluntary parts of
the independent sector.
What
does the Independent
Care Group do?
ICG is committed to helping care providers
to give the best possible service to the vulnerable people they care
for – working in partnership with others to make this a reality.
We
work with the statutory authorities on an ongoing basis in the negotiation
process towards raising fees paid for care to levels recommended in
the national costing models
We
promote the care sector by lobbying politicians and by raising the issue
of economic development. We also work with CSCI.
We hold regular local meetings to which all care providers are invited
to give their views. Meetings are held in York, Scarborough, Harrogate,
Skipton and Leeming.
We
produce a quarterly newsletter which highlights concerns and keeps providers
up to date with local information.
We
e-mail topical information and best practice guidance to members.
We
hold an annual conference giving providers and health professionals
the chance to get together to hear key speakers on care issues.
