ICG Conference
- Wednesday 22 November 2006
Message from
ICG Chair – Mike Padgham
Each year we organise the ICG
Annual Conference to give care providers in our area an opportunity
to come together and hear the latest information on issues which affect
our sector.
This year we did something different
and invited Chris Moon MBE, a hero for our times and
an inspirational speaker, to speak to us about his experiences and philosophy
and I know that many people found this to be a real highlight. We have
also received many positive comments on our showing of the moving film
What do you see? presented by the Director Amanda Waring as it got to
the heart of what caring for people should mean. We provide a link here
if people wish to purchase the DVD.
We also had speakers from the Department of Health on
the future direction of the industry and from CSCI on how inspections
are changing. Delegates had the opportunity to question these speakers
as well as the senior managers from our local authorities.
A sincere thank you to all who
attended at York Racecourse this year. It is always good to
see old friends and new faces. I do hope that you enjoyed the day.
We are extremely grateful to our sponsors
– DC
Care, Barclays
Business Banking and Caring
UK – their help enabled us to make sure that the
event was of a high quality. We hope that you had the chance to speak
to them about their services and products.
ICG would also like to thank the many
exhibitors who supported the conference. We could not afford such a
prestigious venue without them and we hope that you will direct enquiries
to them when you need the services they offer. A full list of our exhibitors
can be found in the conference
guide.
Next year? We have begun the planning
already – and ask you to put the week of 12 November in your diaries.
More details will follow.

guide now and if you have not provided Keren with a completed delegate
feedback form, then please do so now.
